growing up, andromeda fell into the black's tradition racist ways. she despised everything about muggles and muggleborns alike. she did not quite understand why she did, and when she asked her big sis Bella, her response was cut short and vague. "because we should!" dromeda did not discover why her family did until she got to Hogwarts and met her muggleborn friends. of course, she was in slytherin, so they were a bit wary of her at first, but eventually she made them realize that she wasn't the stereotypical evil slytherin.
of course, this did not sit well by her family. they expelled her from the family when she graduated and was engaged to her best friend from her Hogwarts years, ted tonks. while this hurt, she got over it. since they got married, she has expressed her talent for household spells and cleanliness, lacked by her husband and daughter.
she does not want to pick sides on voldemort's issue, seeing as she is not a death eater nor a member of the order of the phoenix. she does support the order of the phoenix. she does not want voldemort to take over. while she herself has a chance of being safe, the ones closest to her do not, which is what she is most afraid of.

born in 1953, andromeda isla tonks was born to veteran parents druella and cygnus. she had an older sister named bellatrix, and two years later, she was met with a younger sister by the name, narcissa. when bellatrix headed off the hogwarts in 1962, andromeda was incredibly jealous, but her leaving meant that andromeda was the big sister. she milked this for everything it was worth, bullying cissy to every beck and call she could muster up. of course, when bellatrix came back for holidays and summer, she let her big sissy have the reigns back. when narcissa was a little baby, druella passed away due to an illness. the family was devastated, but they managed to bounce back.
when dromeda went to hogwarts, she was sorted immediately into slytherin, just like her sister and the rest of her family. she was very proud for doing her family good. during her first few years, she was trying to figure out why her family (amongst other purebloods) hated muggles and muggleborns. she wound up making very good friends with many muggleborns, but she wound up hiding this factor from her family for as long as she could.
it did not last very long, considering her nosy siblings found out and told her father, who was extremely disappointed in his middle daughter. she was very isolated from her sisters since she became closer to other muggleborns. during the summers and holidays, she tried to stay out of her house as much as she could, staying at any of her friends' houses.
her best friend through hogwarts who had stayed at her side for the longest time was ted tonks, a muggleborn wizard himself. the two had immediately clicked, and she stayed at his home during summers. his family was great, they taught her how muggles survived without magic. during their seventh year, the two were feeling different towards each other. andromeda started to feel romantic feelings for her best friend. they started dating when they got out of hogwarts at the age of 18. two years later, they got married and had a young daughter. andromeda picked the name, nymphadora, for their newborn metamorphmagus daughter.
now, at the age of 26, andromeda isla tonks is a waitress at the leaky cauldron while managing to mother her extroverted daughter. her and ted tonks have been married for six years. <3
